My first motorbike was a Yamaha DT 50cc when I was 17 years old.  Then I had a Kawasaki GPZ 400 followed by a Suzuki GSX-R1100, a Suzuki GSX-R1000 K6 and finally a  BMW R1200 GS Adventure (2007).  From the road bikes, the GSX-R1000 was the best fun to drive.  With a dry weight of only 160 kg and 130 kW, the acceleration was awesome.  Doing long distances could become uncomfortable and it was not any better for the passenger.  In this regard, the GSX-R1100 was much better.

The BMW Adventure is a lovely bike, not as much power and acceleration as the road bikes, but very comfortable with excellent wind protection.  In July 2009 I took the Adventure to Namibia and Botswana on a 5000 km round trip.

I also do a bit of unmotorised biking, using pedal power.  I have participated in a couple of mountain bike events.
